I am a witch. I live where the hedgerows thicken into woodland, where the crows wake me every morning and the blackthorn flowers white before anything else dares to.
Witchcraft has run through my family for centuries, passed down from one generation to the next, and I was taught the craft from a young age: how to read the moon, which herbs to gather and when, how to protect a home and how to honour those who came before. It isn’t something I keep for special occasions. It is every part of my everyday life: the salt on my thresholds, the candle in my window, the herbs drying above my kitchen and the card I draw each morning.
The Blackthorn Post began as letters: the kind I wished someone had written to me when I was starting out. Not a course, not a rulebook. Just one witch sitting at her table each month, sharing the magick the season is asking of us, a working to try, and the true stories of those who walked these paths before.

When will my post arrive?✦
Join by the 25th of the month. Every letter is posted on or around the 26th. In the UK it goes first class and usually arrives around the 30th, often sooner; international delivery can take a little longer depending on where you are.
Can I cancel?✦
Yes. Monthly membership can be cancelled at any time. Gifts of Magick are prepaid and simply end after the final post, with no renewal.
Can I start from the very first letter?✦
Each year of letters is numbered I to XII. When you join, choose to start with this month’s letter or from Letter I.
Do you post internationally?✦
Yes, worldwide. International membership is £14.99 a month, and international prices for everything are shown at checkout.
Which edition is right for my child?✦
Little Thorns is written for under 10s; Wild Thorns for ages 10 to 16. Read more on the For Parents page.
Is this real magic?✦
Yes. This is real witchcraft: the spells, rituals and magick I practise myself, rooted in real folklore and true history. Like any spiritual practice, it isn’t a substitute for medical or professional advice.
